About St. John

St. John Catholic Church is part of the Wheeling-Charleston Diocese of West Virginia. The parish began as St. Marys Mission Church in 1835, and served the Pleasant County community.

This little church on a hill was named St. John in honor of Bishop John J. Saint in 1933, and was declared an independent parish in 1974 by Bishop Joseph H. Hodges.
